Why is MARIJUANA ILLEGAL...Who uses this stuff?

I`ve never been a user personally , never any drugs for that matter....I just noticed in Maryland they passed a bill that allows seriously ill to use....

Why is this illegal yet alcohol and cigarettes are legal? And why then can old people use at the end of their life, lol? This makes no sense..

I'd speculate that the gov't feel that while pot in itself may not be any more dangerous than booze, that legalizing it may have an effect on pot smokers that encourages them to experiment with more deadly drugs ...

... some of those as you know are are very lethal and very addictive (ie heroine).

Just a guess though.

Actually, marijuana is less harmful than alcohol...there has never been a marijuana overdose, unlike alcohol. Alcohol is very distructive to the liver, while marijuana the lungs.

However, I am humored by the thought of marijuana usage leading to more deadly drugs, liking such to alcohol leading users to drive motor vehicles.

Moreover, where would we be today musically, if it wasn't for the 60's and 70's, which produced the best music we know? ...much produced under the influence of marijuana.

PS as of May 16th an Ontario Appeal Court ruled laws against the herb struck down. In effect it is now Okee dokee to smoke in public without fear of police.

The reason it is illegal in the first place stems from the racism rooted in the early part of the last century against Hindoos and Mexicans.

Just another attempt by governments to control people. Nothing to do with health.

While I'm at it... the lie continuously perpetuated by so-called leaders about MJ being a gateway drug are TOTALLY FALSE. Allow me to explain their shit arguement.

Some bonehead like John Walters trots out a statistic that says that 95% of heroin addicts started out using weed. How gastly.

"lies, damn lies and statistics.."

What he doesn't say is that 98% of people who smoke weed NEVER go on to use heroin. A nice twist of "logic" don't you think???

In addition to Nanuk's comment, hemp is a threat to the oil industry-it could eliminate a lot of the demand for oil.....and can be grown where very little will grow-with less\no irrigation.

"Steaming hot" water IS emitting water vapor (best solution)...making breathing (inhalation) much easier, expanding the lungs to hold more smoke.

Using "ICE COLD" water is a common misconception and an "improper" bonging (inhalation) technique, cold air contracts.

I suggest you try BOTH methods (ICE COLD and STEAMING HOT) water and experience the difference.

It's simply mind bong-o-ling.

Spive I agree with you 100%. They should legalize the shit lol. Also.. you never hear about a person on marijuana just wiped out a whole entire block on pot. On alcohol..Thats another story. Yet alcohol is legal.
